Taiping, the rain city

Hi all! Finally I get to online at Starbucks @ Taiping!!

This is the hospital I'm working at!
Courtesy from Dr Ang CL at Dr Darren's blog

What I think about Taiping:
  1. Taiping rains EVERYDAY!!! It even can rain 3 times in a day!~
  2. Taiping food is cheap. Very cheap. Still can get a wan tan mee for RM2.20. Can get a seafood mihun soup (with 3 fat prawns) for RM3! Get a duck drumstick rice for merely RM4.50. But drinks are expensive relatively.. Chinese tea is 40 cents.
  3. Almost entire population in Taiping go to Taiping Sentral (the only shopping centre + Tesco nearby in Taiping) during weekends.
  4. Taiping is not that ulu afterall.. there are Big Cinema, Sushi King, Vincci here. Slightly smaller than S'ban and Batu Pahat.
In Hospital Taiping, there are 2 most frightening postings which are famous in EXTENDING houseman services, number 1 Ortho and number 2 O&G. Kexin and I are now in Obs & Gynae, whereas Yeang Wee and Chi Wooi are in Ortho. Four of us are still alive! (Normal posting is 4 month long. Any mistake done, extend! --> 3 months more in hell!)

Of cause, those mistakes are unforgivable. Example:
- write the name wrongly at blood form which cause the patient who needs blood urgently cannot get the blood.
- Send blood for the same investigation twice at the same time which in turn make patient pay more unneccasarily.

I was only tag for 1 week, from 7am till 10pm. Life is simple and easy, as we taggers in this special department (O&G) can only observe and assist. Other than that, if we encounter any problem, or anything happened, anything that we plan to do, we have to inform MO. So on the other hand, we are sort of protected by MO if we do our work correctly and safely.

There is only one thing which irritates me.. Logbook! Sometimes we berebut-rebut and beramai-ramai go to OT just to watch a super rare operation. In the end, some kena halau by sister in OT. WE ARE BACK TO MEDICAL SCH LIFE!!!!

Another thing, those simple case like normal uneventful patient come for contraction pain, no one wants to clerk because it is not in the logbook. Everyone stares starvingly for hypertensive mothers with thyroid diseases. Oh ya, there are 33 housemen in my department now.
How to fight??

Afterall, everything is stillllll manageble la.. Yesterday was my first on-call of my entrire working life. It's cool. Work from 7am till 8am today. Eventful and interesting. At least it did not bored me to death. Also, I felt stupid, but I learn something!! Thanks to the MO and staff nurses.

Now, the only slogan is.. LOOK AT THE BRIGHT SIDE! Working is not that terrifying (yet)! =P

Confused

Is it 2, or 3 o'clock??

I am confused!!
I am confused by things surrounding me..
Even my alarm clock fooled me!!

Too many things to do. Sometimes what you think you've done the best doesn't appear to be so.

One more month to final exam which sum out what I've learned in 5 years.
One more month to graduation.
One more month to leave school.
One more month to face the real world.
